Hi~!

I noticed that the blogs I’m following right now are now into Japanese learning mode. HAHA! I don’t know but I’m 100% sure that I followed you guys because you’re learning Korean too. I envy you. Maybe you are all good in Korean that’s why you are studying Japanese now. But me, I’m stuck here. And it’s because of my weak will and determination :))

Since I am working now, I don’t have any time to study. I’m too tired and lazy. My work is from 2pm – 11am. I usually got home around 12:30 – 1:00 am. And usually sleeps at 1:30 or 2 in the morning. And woke up 9 in the morning. Then go to work at 11:00am. Yes, 11am is too early but that is because I’m with my boyfriend. His work is from 1:00pm to 10pm. I stayed in his office for an hour then after that, he will come with me when I have to go the my work. Btw, our company is on the same building, that’s why. πŸ™‚

Whenever I have free time, I use that to sleep. During weekends, I’m in my bed the whole day, sleeping or just plain lying πŸ™‚ So yeah, that’s daily routine of my life now. I don’t want to work anymore. I wish I have a lot of money…

I’ve been thinking of selling my korean book… 😦

Dates and Days of the Week & Time

μ˜€λŠ˜μ€ μ΄μ²œμ‹μ‚Ό λ…„ μ‹œμ›” 이십삼일.
I wrote this post in μ˜€ν›„ μ„Έμ‹œ μ˜€μ‹μ˜€.

Decided to finished two lessons for today because I really want to start with the Unit 1 which would be all about tenses. Since the last two lessons were about numbers, I just wrote down some important notes. I also encountered new words. I didn’t wrote all the Korean names of the day of the month because it is just too many. It is not even a problem because I can always look back at my book when I feel the need to.

I just noticed that whenever I write on my notebook, it feels like I’m just rewriting the things written in the book. It feels like I’m just transferring all the book’s content into my notebook. HAHA! So from now on, I will do my best to take note of the very important things only. ^_^

I’m so excited to learn the tenses. I already encountered this in TTMIK but I’m still excited because I know this lesson is gonna be tough πŸ™‚ I hope that I would be diligent enough to study this tonight and if not which is I’m 80% sure, then I’ll study this tomorrow. HAHA!

On the other hand, I’ve been waiting for the episode 13 of Innocent Man but it is not yet available 😦 So what I did was I watched Sungkyunwan Scandal instead. It is a nice drama but I like Innocent Man more because of κ°•λ§ˆλ£¨μ”¨ HAHA!

How I take down notes

After reading Shanna’s post about language note-taking practices, I suddenly thought of blogging how I take down notes. So let’s start.

Before, I have three (3) notebooks; one for pronunciation rules, one for grammar and another one for vocabulary. But I stopped doing that after a week because it requires a lot of effort. Like transferring from notebook to the other then back writing at the other again. Then I also did the rewriting of my whole notes into one notebook. I write the pronunciation rules on the first page then start with lessons after that. And for vocabulary, I used to write one word on top of every page with a corresponding meaning in Korean. But I stopped doing that, too.

I used to write using a pencil so I can easily erase my mistakes. But I stopped, it’s plain and boring. Then I bought pens in different colors thinking that it will add “fun” in studying but it didn’t. I got tired of changing one pen to another. I stopped.

And now, I only have one notebook. Hooray~! And I’m using only one pen which is in color blue. Just like before, I wrote the pronunciation rules on the first page. I used to write vocabulary words just after the sentence where I encountered it but lately, I found myself dividing my notebook in half and started writing the vocabulary words on the other half. It doesn’t look good so I think I will stick with the first one I did. There are times that I will only encircle the word I don’t know then put the Korean meaning below that word.

I’m sure that the way I take down notes now will change eventually. I’m still in the stage of experimenting. And now, I’ve been thinking whether to buy a new notebook and a new set of pens πŸ™‚

scan me~! ^^

Hi everyone! Please add me on Kakaotalk again. Long story short, I deleted my account without knowing it. HAHA! Just add me okay! Thanks!! I also glued this QR code in my sidebar just like what others are doing πŸ™‚

Native Korean Numbers

ν•˜λ‚˜, λ‘˜, μ…‹!!!

That’s all I know in native korean numbers. I just finished studying and I didn’t pushed myself to memorize all of those. It is too much for me to handle! HAHA! I want to learn it naturally. Maybe as time goes by, I will be more familiar with it. I really hope.. πŸ™‚

After answering the On your own part, I realized that I need to be more familiar with unit nouns. I’m not even sure if λŒ€ is a unit noun but based on the answer key, I think it is. LOL!

That’s all for today, tomorrow I’ll study dates and days of the week! Yehey!

Innocent Man

I skipped studying yesterday because I was so occupied with Kang Ma Ru! HAHA! I was able to watch some episode in KBS last Thursday and it seems good so yesterday I decided to watch it online! And it is indeed good! Sad part though is that it is still currently airing in Korea so the episodes available online is not yet complete…

I’m on episode 5 already and it is getting more interesting πŸ™‚ Secrets were being revealed and Eun Gi and Ma Ru kissed! HAHA!!!! Right now, I’m still thinking whether to prepare my breakfast or finish the rest of the episode first. Hmmmm… I guess I’ll watch it first while eating 빼빼둜. That will do the trick, somehow γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹! πŸ˜‰

Another excuse is that I really need to finish watching it so that I can really study later! HAHA!

Yonsei~

I envy those who are studying in Yonsei now. Be it for 3 weeks, 4 Β or more than that. They are just so lucky to study there. Sigh! How I wish I can study there too… I want to go toΒ Yonsei Samsung Library. HAHA! I want study there so bad!!!! Maybe someday, … (i’m currently reading blog post from students studying at Yonsei) …

PS: Sorry for the rant πŸ™‚ But I really want to study there .. HAHA! And if destiny won’t permit me, then maybe at least let me go to Korea πŸ™‚

Korean Snacks

Wento to Makati to have my technical interview. And I guess it went really well. I hope they’ll hire me πŸ™‚

Anyway, after my interview, the boyfriend and I went to another building in Makati which was GT Tower. We went to their food court at the 12th floor and decided to eat at the only one Korean stall there. I ordered Korean rice beef. It was delicious! They put red bean paste on the rice and top it with sweet semi-grind beef and a sunny side up πŸ™‚

After I finished my food, we saw a small stall selling different variaties of Korean snacks. There were potato chips, Pororo goodies like drinks and candy, Pepero, Melona icecream and many more! I was supposed to buy the ice cream but decided not to because I still have a cough 😦 Since the boyfriend wants to try Korean snacks too, we bought these:

Haven’t tasted it yet. But I’m sure this one will taste soooooo gooood!! HAHA! I’m trying to read the descriptions at the back and I can’t understand a single word.. 😦 HAHA!!

And ofcourse, Pepero with almond and chocolate! So yummy!!

This one is delicious too! It’s a sunflower seed coated with chocolate! Will never get tired of eating this! Good thing we bought this! It is from heaven! HAHA!!

I wanted to buy more snacks from that stall but it is so expensive 😦 How I wish that they sell them in lesser price. I also imagined living in Korean and my refrigirator is full of these yummmy stuff!! :p

Sino-Korean Numbers

Image

I just finished studying Sino-Korean numbers yesterday night. At first it was kinda frustrating because the book didn’t include numbers 12-19, 21-29, 31-39 … 91-99 HAHA! Then I just realized how 11 in Sino-Korean became 십일 and I kinda get the hang out of it πŸ™‚ I can now also recite 1 – 10 of sino-korean numbers. Ah! It feels so good! ^_^

I finished late yesterday night so I haven’t got the chance to answer the On your own part the same night. So what I did was continued it today. And good news because I got a perfect score! Yehey!! I’m still slow pronouncing long numbers though specially if its a measurement, or money because I need to think first of the λ°±, 천, 만, μ‹λ§Œ, and 백만. I don’t have a problem in telephone numbers though! HAHA! I can say that I’m really good at telephone numbers HAHA!

Anyway, next lesson would be Native Korean Numbers which is still under the Lesson 3: Numbers. HAHA! I skipped studying it though πŸ™‚ Because I feel so tired by just looking at the book because it is full of Korean characters. HAHA! Then after native korean numbers would be Lesson 4: Dates and Days of the Week then after that is Lesson 5: Time then I’m done! Not with the whole book, though. I’m done with the “getting ready” part of the book. Yay! Achievement!

Then the real battle begins because after lesson 5 is the Unit 1 that would be all about tenses. I’m excited!! ^_^ I already encountered tenses on TTMIK lessons in Level 1 but I hope this book will help understand more πŸ™‚

PS: Sorry for not posting my recording of me speaking Korean phrases πŸ™‚ It is because I don’t really know what to say and I don’t any thing to read. πŸ™‚ I’ve been looking for a fairy tale story written in Hangul. I saw several sites but most of them were in flash format 😦

μžˆλ‹€ and Location Nouns

20121009-001350.jpg

I just finished studying Lesson 2 in my book which is the μžˆλ‹€ (to exist/be, to have). I already encountered this lesson before in TTMIK so I find it easy. I also practice reading Korean with the help of the audio files included in the book. I dont know why but inside this lesson is location nouns that I think is similar to what we call prepositions. I tried to search for a long explanation of location nouns but I can’t find any. But I saw some list of Korean prepositions and thought that I should copy it here but the list was too long and complicated so sticked to the location nouns found on my book.

And these are: μœ„, μ•„λž˜, μ•ž, λ’€, μ˜†, μ™Όμͺ½, 였λ₯Έμͺ½, 사이, κ°€μš΄λ°, μ•ˆ, and λ°–. I really need to be familiarize with these bunch because they said it is very important ti know because they are like “connectors” HAHA! Sorry I forgot the exact word.

Anyway, I did try to answer the On your own part of the book and I pretended that this is a quiz. HAHA! Out of 6 question, I only got 5… I dont really understand why my answer is wrong.. Here is the sentence:

μ΄λ―Όμš°μ”¨ __에 캐럴 씨가 μžˆμ–΄μš”.

And my answer on the blank part is μ•ž which means front. Base on the picture, 이민우 is in front of Carol but the answer key says that the correct answer is λ’€ which is behind. Does that mean that the sentence means Behind Lee Minho is Carol? Because base on my understanding, the sentence means Lee Minho is in front of Carol. HAHA! i hope i’m making sense. Please help me! Please explain if you know the answer. Thank you!

PS: It’s already 12:33 in the morning :))
